My dream had always been, since I was twelve, to be a writer. But life intervened, right up until my retirement. With time suddenly on my hands, I jumped, no I dived head-first into my brave, new writing endeavour. I saw it as a solitary undertaking and myself a lonely recluse, and it WAS, for the first five years while I rushed to get on paper all the ideas I had floating around in my head.

Then coincidentally, we all attended Marsha McKie’s Writers’ Series Workshops. We were all unattached and hungry for a relationship. We knew nothing about each other, except our writing dreams had brought us all together in a beastly cold room in the POS Nalis library.

We discovered that we were so very similar in our overall goal, but completely different in our approaches. I loved the uniqueness of each one of us. So naturally coming out of this was a brand that embraced both diversity and versatility.

It still amazes me: one minute we were trying valiantly to become a coherent entity, then flash! we became CFW – Caribbean Fine Writers.

We went through the pain of birth, – the four of us – we endured the trauma of group dynamics experimentation, we had scheduling nightmares, but through it all, we forged ahead. And guess what? We survived all the labour pains, and the first babies are now all grown up and on Amazon, doing well.

So, great things to come. We’re not perfect, but who is? We are a group sharing writing experiences and inviting others -readers, well-wishers, friends- to journey with us as we convert blank page to worthwhile stories, mastering our craft.

We look forward to your company on this writing voyage of discovery.
