Tilt by Aya Taliba Ayodike was different, as it spoke to the male perspective on family life and dealing with mental health of a loved one. Set in the Caribbean, it takes a look at life after saying ‘I do.’ The difficulty of marriage but also of staying the course and being committed to a resolution. I was pleased to see that there was indeed a happy ending.

This book is beautifully written. The plot was well thought out leaving me with all the appropriate feelings. I chuckled in the right places and even got angry in others. It was a very enjoyable read.

Could NOT put this down! I’m mad that I have to wait for the next one. Being from Trinidad and relating to much of the story’s locations (Trincity massive), I was held captive. Even if you aren’t familiar with the lore or the setting this will hold your attention. I do love that the author gave some insight at the beginning for those unfamiliar. I’m really looking forward to the next part. This was such a good read!

Roamar Achat-Saney’s Autumn Leaves Are Raining is a spell binding tapestry of family, forgiveness and freedom. The novel traces Anna’s evolution from the spring of childhood in Trinidad and Tobago to the autumn of adulthood in the United States. While in New York, Anna becomes bound to a man of double lives, a Jekyll and Hyde character. We journey with her through love’s promise, loss’s sting and the quiet heroism of her unbroken poise. As Anna braves the process of self-discovery, she sheds the secrecy and shame that once held her captive. Autumn Leaves are Raining – A must read true story.
